Bringing Communities Together
The Korean American Coalition (KAC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1983 to promote the civic and civil rights interests of the Korean American community. KAC endeavors to achieve these goals through education, community organizing, leadership development, and coalition-building with diverse communities. The San Diego chapter of KAC (KAC-SD) was established in 2007. Our programs work to help our local Korean American community and foster rising generations of community advocates, civic leaders, and business professionals.
Our Mission: To serve and promote the interests of Korean Americans through civic, legislative, cultural, and educational programs and services
Leadership Programs
Mentorship Program
The KAC-SD mentorship program aims to match students and young professionals with a mentor for developing an area of interest such as advancing their career, drawing boundaries at work/relationships, public speaking/communication skills, and landing their desired jobs.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor to give back to the Korean American community and support the development of tomorrow’s professionals, or you are interested in becoming a mentee to obtain perspective and wisdom from a knowledgeable person outside of your network, click below.
KAC MU
KAC Model United Nations (MUN), established in 2006, is the only year-round after-school program available in the City of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County that is focused on leadership and personal development for Korean American and Asian American youth (intermediate and secondary education students). KAC MUN program is intended to give inner-city youth insight into the world at large, while honing their leadership skills, all in an effort to engage students in a critical reflection of the global and local issues affecting their communities today. Acting as delegates from the United Nations (UN) member committees, students participate in simulated UN conferences.
